About Us
Katampe Estates Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Masjid
We are a community masjid on Katampe Road in Kado, Abuja, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as Incorporated Trustees. We exist to keep congregational prayer established in Katampe Estates, to teach the Qur'an and Arabic, and to support neighbours in need.
Our Story
Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Masjid began as a need felt by the Muslim families of Katampe Estates: somewhere close enough to walk to for Fajr, big enough to hold Jumu'ah, and organised enough to teach children their religion properly.
Today the masjid opens for all five daily prayers, gathers the community for Jumu'ah every Friday at 1:30 PM, runs a weekend madrasah for children and Qur'an classes for adults, conducts Nikah ceremonies, and distributes Zakat to households in the surrounding area.
We are located at Katampe Estates, Kado, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory 900108, Nigeria. The masjid is governed by a Board of Trustees registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria; its members and our governing objectives are published in full on our Legal & Transparency page.

Why Umar Ibn Al-Khattab?
Our masjid carries the name of Umar Ibn Al-Khattab رضي الله عنه, the second Caliph of Islam. He is remembered for plain justice, for walking the streets at night to find who was hungry, and for putting the welfare of ordinary people above his own standing.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to: a masjid that is useful to its neighbours, not just open to them.
How We Are Governed
Board of Trustees
The masjid is run by a Board of Trustees registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria. Trustees serve voluntarily and are named in full on our transparency page.
Donations & Zakat
Zakat is kept separate from general funds and distributed only to eligible recipients. Sadaqah covers running costs, classes and maintenance.
